This weekend we welcomed our 2025/2026 Student Resident Firefighter “Rookies”!
After our annual Family & Welcome BBQ on Saturday, our current residents, families, and volunteers helped the rookies move into their unique “college dorms” inside our fire stations.
This year we have 9 new rookies and 20 returning student firefighters who volunteer their time, run engine shifts every five days, and call our stations home while attending college.
Welcome to the MVFD family! 💛 We’re excited to see you grow during training and onboarding in the coming rookie weeks—and to support you in your first official shifts and Fire Academy later this month.
