This application is only for our Student Resident Firefighter open positions for the 2026/2027 academic year.

You must meet the following requirements to apply;

Be a full-time college student in the 2026/2027 academic year

Available to interview and perform agility test in-person in Moscow, Idaho on March 28th, 2026

Available to report for “Rookie Week” training on Sunday, August 1st, 2026

Submit application by midnight on Sunday March 1st, 2026

Volunteering with the MVFD requires a significant commitment of time on the applicant’s part. We are a proud and dedicated group of community members, responding to more than 3000 medical and fire calls each year. Volunteers are required to participate in monthly meetings and training in addition to shift coverage.

The work can be physically demanding and emotionally challenging. It is often a thankless job with few tangible rewards and significant training and participation requirements. For all our members, the rewards of serving our community and helping those in need motivate us to volunteer.
